Wednesday in Utah

We had another great day in Utah.  We had our two Bible camps today with great success.  We had smaller crowds than the first two days, but everything went smooth.  The kids played water games and made necklaces in crafts.  Some of the necklaces were in the shape of crosses which certainly is a conversation starter as the Mormons do not hold the cross in as high regard as do we.  It allowed us the chance to show how important we think that the cross is.  Gene and Bill told the story of the plagues in Egypt.

Please keep Parker in your prayers.  He has been sick today.  It could be altitude sickness or heat and exhaustion.  Either way, he was feeling bad.  He slept a good bit today in the hotel room and is presently watching TV and feeling better.

We have one day of camps left.  Please pray for us, Crossings Church, and their pastor, Mickie Kelly as they take the work that has been done and build on it.  They are primed to spread the gospel of the true Savior throughout the lower Salt Lake Valley.

Monday in Utah!

Today was our first day at the park.  We had several kids come to see what was going on after setting up the two bouncers and serving up snow cones.  This event was simply an opportunity to promote the bible camp that we will be doing for the rest of the week.  The actual camps start tomorrow.

I was at Subway tonight getting something to eat for Parker.  The girl behind the counter was being so sweet to him and adding everything he could think of to his sandwich.  It looked like a true Dagwood when she got done with it.  As I checked out she asked me if I wanted a Subway card.  I explained that I wasn’t from around here and probably would not use it.  She asked where we were from and we told her KY.  She asked why we were here and I explained we were helping a local church.  After a minute or two of discussion about our mission she said, “That sounds great.  I have been looking for a church.” I said, “Your not LDS? (Mormon).”  She said, “No.”  I high-fived her!   I was able to give her Bro. Mickie’s information and website.  In this area of 95% Mormon saturation, that was a rare encounter.

Please pray for our team.  We are very tired and need strength and patience as we continue.  Also, pray for divine encounters in the next few days as we begin to engage the community through our bible camps.

Thanks for all of your prayers.  We feel the effects!

Bro. Brandt
