Dear Thinker, thanks for reading my post. My question to you is, what is wrong with thinking your religion is right? Why would I practice my faith if I didn't not believe it to be absolutely true. My thesis in this post was to say that it is important to ask the question, "What is true?" What is foolish and completely illogical is to say that they are all OK and that they all ought to be embraced, when they embrace antithetical doctrines. For instance, Islam holds to a salvation that is based on the five pillars of Islam, or what we would call a works theology. All those who do not do the works cannot hope for salvation. Christianity, on the other hand, holds that we cannot do enough good works because we are not righteous in our sin nature. We must place our faith in Christ to do the works of righteousness for us. These two thoughts complete opposite and if there is only one true God (both religions are monotheistic) why would he give two groups of people two different understandings of salvation? In truth there can be only one that is right or neither are right. That is not narrow minded, that is logical.
I believe Christianity to be absolutely true because of the one thing that no other religion has: a historically verifiable origin based on Jesus who predicted His own death and resurrection and then followed through with it. We also see from history that no one ever discovered his crucified body, something that both the leaders of Rome and the Jews would have loved to have found to squash the early Christian movement. What we do find in history is the writings of the apostles who claimed faith based on experience. They all went to their martyrdom claiming, not that they believed in Jesus, but that they saw him resurrected. If this is true it also validates His statement in John 14:6 that says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me." Either He is the hope of salvation of he is a liar or lunatic. If I claim to be a follower of Christ I cannot deny His exclusive claims about Himself. To deny those would put me in the position of calling Him a liar or a lunatic.
You know, you are the second person who has dropped a comment on this post that has given no substance to your view, but have quickly and vitriolically called me a "narrow-minded extremist." Yet, my post was very polite but stated a simple thesis that I believe Jesus to be the only hope of salvation. There was no hatefulness, no vitriol, no extremist "kill 'em all" stance. On the contrary I was very careful to say that we are called, as Christians, to love all people, no matter what their faith is. It amazes me that those who comment on this post with hateful words and inflammatory remarks are the ones that consider themselves the tolerant ones. It seems that tolerance is only applied to those who think like you.

Hello! I am Mateus. In English my name can be translated to Matthew. I am a student from Brazil and I came here for studying. I am studying English at ELS English Center. I am from a Baptist Church in Brazil and I have been in Enerdale Road Baptist Church untilnow and I would like to know your church, but I don't know how can I get in your church. I am living in a homestay at Kane Avenue near Eglinton West Station. If you know how to explain for me how can I arrive in your church by subway or bus, I would be happy in visit you and worship our Jesus and Lord.
God bless you!

Thanks for reading my blog. I would like to restate that we are to love all people no matter what they believe. The main point I was trying to make was not that we should hate those who disagree with me. It was that we should stand for the truth that Christ proclaimed. We would be fools to profess faith in Christ as the son of God and our hope of salvation if we did not believe that he is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. This is the way that He revealed Himself. It would likewise be foolish to believe that He went to the cross to pay the penalty of our sins if their were some other (possibly better) way. To state a strong belief in Christ is not in and of itself a declaration of hatred towards those who do not.
